Amazon Echo can now keep you up to speed with Google Calendar events

The Amazon Echo is ready to help you stay on task with added support for Google Calendar events.

The Amazon Echo[1] just keeps getting handier. After adding numerous new features over the last several months, the connected speaker and digital assistant has picked up support for Google Calendar events.

After an update that should be pushing to the Amazon Echo now, users will be able to ask the Echo's alter-ego, Alexa, about upcoming events on their Google Calendars. For example, you can now say things like "Alexa, what's on my calendar today" and the digital assistant will fill you in. You can get more specific, asking for combinations of future times and dates as well.

While it doesn't look like Alexa will actually be able to schedule events on your Google Calendar for you, Amazon says that they are working to add more calendar-specific features over the coming weeks. But for now, you can pretend Alexa is a much more toned down version of Jarvis as she fills you in on your day each morning.
